The University of Wolverhampton is one of the major sponsors for Boyzone’s headline show in Telford this weekend as it continues its investment in the town.
Thousands of fans will descend on Telford Park on Saturday – providing a captive audience to raise awareness of the University’s increasing Telford profile.
A new University Centre Telford was recently opened at Southwater, complementing ongoing developments at Telford Innovation Campus at Priorslee. More than £12 million is to be spent on new facilities to train the next generation of skilled engineers, turning the campus into a centre of excellence.
Professor Ian Oakes, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and External Engagement) said: “Telford is undergoing significant development and we are committed to growing our presence in the town and contributing to this.
“We’re proud to be sponsoring such a major event. It’s a great way to get our message across, raise awareness and show our support for what is happening in Telford.”
Support acts for Boyzone will include Britain’s Got Talent judge and former Mis-Teeq star Alesha Dixon and Telford-based band The Rooz.
