Sporting fun on offer for families

08/04/2015

A fun day will encourage families to get active as part of a festival of sport at the University of Wolverhampton.

The day, hosted by the University’s Institute of Sport, will take place at Walsall Campus next week and will include games and sporting activities for children, basic health and movement tests for adults and taster sessions for all.

Visitors can try their hand at a variety of physical activities from football and judo to cheerleading and street dance. Face-painting, balloon modelling and clowns will keep younger children entertained.

There will also be an exhibition of key sport staff and student work, tours of labs and a chance to see some sport and exercise science in action.
The family fun day will take place on Saturday 18 April from 10am - 2pm.

It will mark the end of a three-day Sportsfest at the University, aimed at celebrating all things sport and promoting the benefits of physical activity.

Partners include West Bromwich Albion FC Foundation, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC Trust, the British Judo Association, Walsall Street Games, the Children’s University and Maddisons.
