The Employment and Volunteering AwardsThe Employment and Volunteering Awards organised by ‘The Workplace’ at the University took place on Thursday 1 May 2014 at Wolverhampton Science Park.

Over 150 students and graduates received awards in a range of 10 different categories including;Student Employee of the Year, Graduate Intern Award, Graduate STEP Award, Volunteer of the Year Award and many more.

A number of graduates were recognised for completing the Wolverhampton Employability and Enterprise Award and those who completed an international placement organised through ‘The Workplace’ on the Leonardo Di Vinci Programme.

Speaking about the event, Helene Turley, Head of The Workplace said: “The awards are our way of congratulating our students and graduates for having made a significant contribution locally and beyond through activities undertaken beyond the curriculum.

“The University provide a number of opportunities through employment and volunteering to its students and graduates. Whether it’s through STEP placements, KEEN programme, Graduate Internships or the SPEED Plus Programme, experience is gained to take the next steps towards their career.”

Winners for Employment and Volunteering Awards 2014:

Victorine Ngamsha and April Hughes won the ‘Entrepreneur Awards.’
Student Engagement Student Staff Team won the ‘Student Employee of the Year’ award.
Alex Robinson and Samantha Fleming secured ‘Graduate Intern Awards.’
Agata Zoledziewska won the ‘Graduate STEP Award 2014.’
Abbie Crane won the ‘KEEN Affiliate’ award.’
Angela Massam won the ‘Volunteer Mentor of the Year’ award.
Jack Guishard was the winner of the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award.
