Professor Kit Field, the University’s Head of Academic Practice, currently seconded to the post of Executive Head at a Black Country academy, was given the prestigious title by the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
The role enables Professor Field to support bids for funding from the HEA, and help train and support colleagues in their applications to all forms of fellowship, thus gaining for the University public recognition of its staff’s expertise.
Professor Field said: “I am delighted to be made a Principal Fellow. To be recognized for having made a sustained impact on learning and teaching at a strategic level in the University, the HE sector and internationally is indeed an honour for me. It is a chance to develop systems and processes to support colleagues and to have an impact on the quality of learning of our students as well as have a sector-wide influence.”
The HEA is an independent UK body that supports and helps improve higher education institutions throughout the country.
