Carole Burgher is a solicitor at Anthony Collins Solicitors LLP in Birmingham, specialising in Children’s Law.
Carole has dedicated her career to being an advocate for vulnerable children and the younger generation. She has represented children in the most complex family matters including international adoptions, parental order applications and other extreme cases.
In 2008, Carole was appointed as a Deputy District Judge on the South East Circuit.
Carole states she has no doubt that she owes her success as a lawyer to the high quality of teaching and support she had while studying at the University of Wolverhampton.
She will remain as a Governor at the University, supporting their mission and promoting its on-going success.
Professor Geoff Layer, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton said: “We are delighted that one of our former law students has achieved such an accolade.”
“The University is very proud of her success and we wish her the best of luck in her new role and her continued good work at the University.”
Carole, aged 51, will be known as District Judge Burgher from 6 May 2014.
