Bursaries on offer through University scheme

17/09/2013

The initiative, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), gives businesses and charities the opportunity for financial gain through their employment of a University of Wolverhampton graduate.

The University is also pleased to provide a free front-end graduate recruitment service, to help organisations recruit the right candidate who best matches their needs.

The scheme is open to private sector small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the West Midlands, as well as registered charities and social enterprises in the region.

To be eligible for a bursary, the organisation must employ a graduate intern, who resides in the West Midlands, for a minimum of nine weeks and a gross payment figure (including salary and employer National Insurance contributions) of £2545.

A maximum of three bursaries per company is allowed, and the offer is available on a “first come first served” basis.

Speaking about the initiative, Helene Turley, Head of The Workplace at the University of Wolverhampton, said: “The University of Wolverhampton is committed to helping organisations in recruiting graduate talent, which is evident from a range of schemes that we have on offer for West Midlands organisations.

“It is exciting that we have been awarded this funding to offer these bursaries, and would recommend organisations to get in touch with us as early as possible to take advantage of this scheme.

“The initiative will provide a boost to organisations in the region, as well as offering fantastic experiences to our graduates which will stand them in good stead for their future careers.”
