Event to showcase manufacturing excellence

03/03/2013

The Manufacturing Excellence Event, hosted by the West Midlands Manufacturing Club, aims to offer product designers and innovators the opportunity to exhibit their services to the general public.

Particular focus of the event will be on excellence in the sector within the Telford & West Midlands region.

The exhibition will take place on Wednesday 27 March at the University’s Telford Innovation Campus between 9:15am-3pm. The event is free to attend for the general public and includes a complimentary buffet lunch.

Charles Hanmer, Chairman of West Midlands Manufacturing Club, said: "We have a wealth of manufacturing expertise in the West Midlands and it makes perfect sense to bring those companies together, as one community, for their mutual benefit and to put a spotlight on the outstanding capabilities of this region. During the last couple of years we have seen the West Midlands Manufacturing Club go from strength to strength and I am delighted that we have the opportunity to promote local businesses and organisations through this exciting event."

The University of Wolverhampton’s School of Technology is the lead partner in the Manufacturing Club and has supported it since its inception in 1999.

Alec Gillham, speaking on behalf of the University’s Department of Engineering and Technology, said: “The University is committed to supporting manufacturing in the region and its continued funding and support of the Manufacturing Club is testimony to that commitment.”
