Professor Mike Haynes will present his inaugural lecture, titled ‘Rotten Apple? Stories of the Global Economy’ on Thursday, 2 May 2013.

Professor Haynes will explore competing stories of the ways in which the modern global economy works.

The lecture will take place in the Millennium City Building in room MC001 at the Wolverhampton City Campus, with a reception from 5.30pm and the lecture due to start at 6.30pm.

Professor Haynes said: “From iPads to iPhones companies like Apple deliver us the everyday goods that we desire but what really goes on behind the marketing is a different story that Business Schools need to tell us as students, customers, employees and citizens.”

Mike Haynes is Professor of International Political Economy at the University of Wolverhampton Business School.

He has written extensively on different aspects of the global economy including emerging markets.

His research focuses on the human side of development and the way that our lives and deaths have been moulded by the system we live in.

He also writes regularly for the local press on economic and consumer matters.
