14/08/2012

Students looking for advice on A level results day will be offered help in an online chat room.

University of Wolverhampton admissions experts will be on hand on from 8:30am on Thursday, 16 August and from 8:30am on Friday, 17 August 2012 to handle a range of queries about the Clearing process.

The University also has a dedicated Clearing hotline - 0800 953 3222* – for people wishing to discuss their options. This is open between 7am – 7pm on 16 August and 8am – 5pm on 17 August.

There will also be an Open Day on Saturday, 18 August 2012 from 10am to 3pm at the University’s Wolverhampton and Walsall Campuses.

Academic Registrar, Paul Travill, said: “We understand that A levels results day and the Clearing process can be quite a stressful time, so we want to make sure that it is as stress free as possible for applicants.

“We have created an online chat room and Clearing hotline where applicants can talk to our team of experts who will be on hand to offer advice and answer any questions.

“Our advice is to make use of the online resources we have available. We will be posting a list of all our courses available through Clearing on our dedicated Clearing website www.wlv.ac.uk/clearing which you will be live from Thursday, 16 August 2012.”

The online chat room will be open between 08:30am and 05:00pm on Thursday, 16 August and 8:30am and 5pm on Friday, 17 August. It can be accessed via: www.wlv.ac.uk/clearing

Clearing is the process through which applicants who have been unable to secure a place at a university can find and apply to higher education courses after the application cycle has finished. Further information about eligibility for Clearing is available on the UCAS website: www.ucas.ac.uk
