University hosts national conference

29/07/2011

The 9th Association for Events Management Education (AEME) conference will take place at the University’s Telford Campus in Priorslee on 13 and 14 July 2011.

Presentations and research papers from representatives of higher education, industry, local authorities and the private sector will focus on the theme of ‘Securing the Future’.

Peter Robinson, Head of Department for Leisure at the University, said: “Over the two days there will be a selection of presentations and workshops which will aim to explore the challenges that the industry and education face in the future.

“Topics will include methods of preparing students and graduates, professional development initiatives, developing employability of graduates and continuing professional development.”

AEME members and non-members will also be able to debate key issues in their field, as well as encourage knowledge transfer and joint collaborations with industry partners during the conference forum.

The AEME was established in 2004 to advance the education of the public in the subject of events and events management. Their aim is to support and raise the profile of the events discipline through the sharing of education and best practice.
