New diploma resources launched

01/10/2010

New teaching resources to support students working towards a diploma in construction have been developed by University of Wolverhampton experts.

The resources support those studying a Level 2 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, as well as other vocational qualifications.

Written by experts within the field of construction, the resources include a student activity book and a teacher’s pack featuring a CD-ROM of teacher’s notes and teaching PowerPoint presentations. The resources are also supported by a range of web-based interactive activities and twelve videos which contain footage of real construction sites.

The new resources were developed by Curriculum and Innovation Development, part of Education Partnerships, and written by Peter Harris, from the University of Wolverhampton’s School of Technology.

Henriette Harnisch, Interim Director of the Midlands Leadership Centre, said: “We are delighted to be launching these new resources which provide excellent support for teachers working with students doing a Level 2 Diploma in Construction.

“The high level of interactive activities and video content in these resources will help engage students and help them to experience situations that are difficult to replicate in a classroom.”

The resources are relevant for both AQA-City & Guilds and Edexcel specifications and are available now. For more information, please call 01902 518941 or email cid@wlv.ac.uk
