The Little Scholars nursery, based in the Randall Lines building at City Campus, received the top grade following a recent inspection.
The glowing report praised the extremely strong leadership and management at the nursery which drives the staff team in developing a “highly stimulating and child-centred provision”.
It also stated parents receive extensive information about their child’s progress daily and are encouraged to become actively involved whenever possible. The report also says all children thoroughly enjoy their time in the nursery, with many demonstrating a reluctance to leave when parents or carers arrive to collect them.
Helen Hall, Nursery Manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted by the outstanding grade we have received from Ofsted, which is a great testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff.
“Children benefit from the rich, stimulating environment and the wealth of learning and development that is on offer in the nursery. “
The report stated: “Each child, and their family background, is highly valued and respected as staff are exceptionally skilled in assessing children’s intrinsic characters and interests in order to frame the individualised learning opportunities offered.
“Children truly are enabled to develop skills for the future and are on their way to becoming ‘little scholars’, enabled by the dedicated and enthusiastic management and staff who thoroughly enjoy the role they play in children’s’ early lives.”
The success was celebrated at a presentation ceremony attended by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Caroline Gipps and nursery staff.
