The gateway to a new you

21/01/2010

Staff at The Gateway will be able to offer people individual advice about courses, the application process, financial support and student life.

The centre, based in a prominent shop-front location at Wolverhampton City Campus, will also offer support for current students, including information about further study.

The Gateway opens on Monday (Jan 25) and will provide individual advice about entry requirements, sources of funding, career development and whether full-time or part-time study is the best option. Staff will provide advice via face-to-face appointments, a phone call or online support.

Jon Elsmore, Dean of Students, said: “We are committed to providing individual advice and guidance to enable people to make the right decisions about their choice of course, based on their own needs and circumstances.

“We can advise about all the different financial support which people may be entitled to once they are a student at Wolverhampton, and can help people complete applications where necessary.

“By keeping in regular contact both before and during a student’s course, we aim to ensure that their transition into higher education and the University of Wolverhampton is as smooth as possible.”

The Gateway is accessed from the pedestrianised area between the Civic Centre and the underpass to the Molineux Stadium, off Wulfruna Street. It is in the glass fronted Harrison Learning Centre building, immediately to the left of the entrance.
