Legal eagle receives scholarship

19/06/2009

Adam Baker, from Dudley, has received the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Entrance Award from the Inner Temple.

Adam is currently in the final year of a LLB (Hons) Law with the School of Legal Studies, and plans to go on to study on the Bar Vocational Course at Birmingham College of Law.

He hopes to become a barrister specialising in civil law areas such as chancery, commercial law and international trade.

Stuart Williams, Associate Dean, said: ""The staff in SLS are extremely proud of Adam's achievement which has been very well deserved and we wish him all the best in his future career".

Adam, aged 29, said: "I would encourage students to put yourself out there, get yourself known and to partake in as much extra curricular activity as possible - anything to make you stand out from the crowd."

Successful applicants for the scholarship are invited to an interview in which they are given four unreported cases and then questioned on their chosen case.
