Event for trainee teachers

Third year students at the School of Education (SEd) are set to attend a conference at the Walsall Campus on Thursday, 21 February 2008.
 
The SEd Third Year Conference is themed ‘Making it real - putting policy into practice’ and gives students the opportunity to hear from top experts in the education field.
 
Mandy French, Senior Lecturer,said: “The conference is designed to complement the modules running in the third year of Special and Joint Award and Initial Teacher Training degrees. It offers the students an opportunity to experience a high quality conference for free on their own campus.
 
“It is a collaborative event that demonstrates integrated practice between Initial Teacher Training, education studies students and those on combined degree courses.”
 
The conference speakers include Dr Iram Siraj-Blatchford, from the Institute of Education, who is an expert in early years’ education, and Dr Paul Warmington, of the University of Birmingham. University of Wolverhampton speakers include Dr Tim Waller, who will talk about young children’s narratives and outdoor space.
