Wearing Out Waste! - Tackling Sustainable Textiles

12 July 2019 , 9.00am - 12.00pm
George Wallis Building (MK), Faculty of Arts, University of Wolverhampton

Over the past year there has been a growing public concern about the detrimental effect the textile industry is having on our planet. The industry has become a hot topic in recent months!

At this FREE workshop you will hear from industry speakers and academics from the University of Wolverhampton. Our speakers will look into sustainable fashion, waste fabric, waste water and the chemicals that are produced at nearly every stage of manufacture. We will investigate how industries in and around the Black Country can and are already helping to combat these issues.

We hope that you take away from this event a better understanding of the impact that this industry is having on our planet and the solutions that are being developed to respond to this.

This event is for any business or persons who use textiles in their industry e.g. clothing manufacturers, car interiors and designers etc., who wish to know more about the possibilities for the industry and how we are working to make it more sustainable.

This event is open to the public but please book a ticket via Eventbrite as there are limited places available.
