I’m Dr Megan Lawton, Senior Adviser on Academic Practice in the College of Learning and Teaching (CoLT).

My current work streams include:

  • Leading the KUDOS CPD Scheme for the recognition of the UK Professional Standards Framework. www.wlv.ac.uk/KUDOS
  • Mentoring of individual applications for Senior and Principal Fellows of the HEA
  • Academic staff development: internal and external
  • Transnational Education (TNE) partners and international academic staff development
  • Module leadership for 7ED037 ‘Contemporary Teaching in Higher & Professional Education’ on the Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and Professional Practice
  • Systematic dissemination of academic practice www.wlv.ac.uk/richexchanges

I have an eclectic set of qualifications (BA in Visual Communication Studies 1983, PGCE in FE 1985, MBA 1995, DProf 2011) and experiences. In 2014 I became a Senior Fellow of the HEA  and in 2017 I became a Principal Fellow of the HEA.

In 2014 I was also appointed as an Assessor for individual recognition and institutional accreditations for the Higher Education Academy (HEA)
