The idea of creating a Learning Region is closely tied to the UNESCO Learning City initiative. Learning Cities are being established across the world based on the idea that by working together we are better placed to transform people’s lives and the economic and social prosperity of an area.
The UNESCO Learning City network sees learning as a way to transform lives, communities, organisations and cities/regions. The aim of Learning Regions is to apply this approach and achieve these benefits for the Black Country, Telford and Stafford.
