Anthea is responsible for the academic provision of the University, in particular curriculum development, quality, academic standards and student recruitment.  Having led a successful Quality Assurance Agency Higher Education Review, where the University was commended for the enhancement of student learning opportunities, Anthea is driving forward the academic development of the University.

Following the completion of a business degree Anthea joined an entrepreneurial business which produced cakes and desserts for catering and retail.  Whilst working as Project Manager her interest in entrepreneurship was aroused.  This led to her research into small business start-up for her PhD which she completed at the University of Leicester.

Anthea’s career in higher education began at Sheffield Business School in 1990.  From there she went on to work at Huddersfield, Wolverhampton and Hull Business Schools.  She returned to the University of Wolverhampton in 2010 as Dean of the Business School, later becoming the founding Dean for the Faculty of Social Sciences before her appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic in 2014.
