Martin has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. He has been responsible for the delivery of a number of landmark projects across the UK, including the national £1bn MoD Project SLAM Programme, Millennium Point and the redevelopment of Birmingham's New Street Station.

Martin is a past President of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). He originally qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor before becoming a Chartered Construction Manager (by day release). Martin has since become a Certificated Project Manager. Martin is also a Chartered Environmentalist and an honorary fellow of Quantity Surveyors International.
During his career Martin has worked for some of the world's greatest companies, including George Wimpey, Mace, Lend Lease and Network Rail.

He is well known as a determined advocate in the areas of Sustainability and Smart Procurement. Martin is also a visiting Professor at the University of Westminster.
