Paul is an alumnus of the University of Southampton, graduating with BSc(Hons) Physiology with Pharmacology and a PhD based on research into hippocampal synaptic mechanism dysfunction in epilepsy. He then moved to the Midlands, working as a Research Fellow and then Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
In 2001 Paul joined the University of Wolverhampton as Senior Lecturer in Physiology and Pharmacology were he teaches mostly Systems Physiology, Pathophysiology and Human Anatomy to students studying Human Biology, Medical Science and related vocational awards.
