Walsall Campus Learning Centre Accessibility

Accessibility information for the Learning Centre on Walsall Campus.

This Learning Centre is on four floors. A passenger lift is available which will give access to all areas except for one group study room and the Audio Visual Area, which is currently having a wheelchair lift installed.

The doors are difficult for wheelchair users to negotiate without intervention, although use of the lift will avoid most of these.

As at all Centres, the two top shelves will be beyond the reach of wheelchair users. Staff will fetch books and assist, but would suggest that students needing this assistance should discuss an arrangement with the staff in advance so that they can present themselves at less busy times.

The journal backruns are now accessible, although the height problem is the same as that of the book shelving.

There is a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Speaking PC/scanner using Dolphin software and a CCTV enlarger are freely available.

A copycard for dyslexic students is available from the desk when funds allow. Please obtain written verification that you are dyslexic from the Student Enabling Centre.
