Grant Funded Early Education Places

All three and four year olds are entitled to a maximum of up to 15 hours funding by the Local Authority for a nursery place.

For three year olds, the scheme starts the term following the child’s third birthday.

This consists of:

  • Up to 15 hours of grant-funded nursery time each week
  • Over a minimum of three days
  • Between the hours of 8.30am-1.00pm or 1.00pm to 5.30pm
  • Up to 38 weeks of the year.

The nursery puts in an application for grant funding at the start of each term and payment is based on the attendance of each child.

Grant Funding does not include the cost of nursery meals ,there is a small charge for lunch/tea for those children just accessing the 15 hours funded by the local authority.
