There are a number of opportunites available to you whilst you are at the University. Come and join us on our journey, get involved and make sport happen with our Workforce Programmes. All of our programmes are open to all students regardless of what course you are studying or at which campus you are based

 

Qualifications in Sport

We run and host a number of courses and workshops throughout the year available to our students and to the community as well. We offer a varied programme and courses take place throughout the year.

  • Football and Futsal Courses - including L1 and L2, First Aid, Mentoring, Disability and Refereeing
  • National Governing Body L1 and L2 Awards - including Basketball, Badminton, Football, Futsal, Dodgeball, Weightlifting and Multi skills
  • Activator Courses - including Dodgeball, Netball, Tennis, Boxing for Fitness, Volleyball, Athletics and Inclusive Sports
  • Workshops - including Safeguarding, First Aid, Engaging Women and Girls in Sport and Physical Activity, Building Resiliant Habits, BACPR Adapting Exercise, Fundamentals of Movement  

 

Volunteering in Sport

Volunteering can be one of the most rewarding experience you have. Come and join the journey of 5.6 million people who currently volunteer in sport and physical activity and see how you can become a Sports Ambassador. There are many opportunities available including

  • National and local events
  • Coaching in clubs and schools
  • Journalism and match reports
  • Photography and video
  • Marketing and Social media

 

 Employment in Sport 

We currently employ a number of students through the University Workplace. From time to time Employers contact us about vacancies they have and these are posted on the University Jobs Board so make sure you keep a regular eye on this. Such roles include

  • Coaching
  • Activators
  • Lifeguarding
  • Exercise Class Instructors
  • Fitness Instructors
  • Kids Camp Leaders
