Highest Coaching qualification:
British Judo Association Level 2 UKCC coach award
European Judo Union Level 4 Performance Judo Coach Award (Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching European Judo Union).
Interesting Fact: I have been involved in the sport of Judo now for 40 years as both a competitor, coach and volunteer, and was awarded the outstanding contribution to sport award by the University of Wolverhampton in 2016.
Background: I started judo as a 5 year old and won many National and International events as a Junior. I won the World Masters Gold medal in 2000 as a veteran and gave up competing to concentrate on coaching. I studied for 3 years at Bath University and Anglia Ruskin University to complete the EJU level 4 Performance coaching award and have managed the Judo programme at the University of Wolverhampton for over 10 years. My aim is to develop a Judo programme from grass roots to Elite level and would encourage anyone who may have an interest in combat sports to give Judo a try. We have world class judo facilities at the University and have opportunities for people to get involved at all levels of the sport from Elite performance to recreational classes.
