Background in Badminton: Hi, my name is Alfu Miah. I’m the Head Coach for Badminton at the University of Wolverhampton.  Badminton is the fastest racket sport on the planet with shuttlecocks reaching speeds of 493 km/h. Badminton is a great sport to play both socially, to get fit and give yourself that competitive edge.

I have been playing for the last 20 years and have been ranked in England.  I have competed all over the world and have met top international players and coaches. Whatever you’re standard, come and give it a try. It’s an opportunity to learn the sport, make new friends and play this great game in state of the art sport facilities.

Quote: Make Wolverhampton your choice of University and get involved in all these great opportunities. As a student you will love the sporting atmosphere. Joining the team will allow you to to play sports in a team, against other universities, get specialist badminton and fitness coaching, and access to the other fitness professionals. You can also volunteer, gain a coaching qualification and get the best student experience. This season we will be training hard, getting fit and doing plenty of multi-shuttle practice. Get ready to progress up the BUCS table. Don’t miss out. See you in training.
