About

Steve Arnott has an MA in Film and Animation from the Royal College of Art in London and a BA in Design and Communication from Staffordshire University. Steve is currently studying for a PhD at the University or Worcester.

His primary subject is animation for children. His main areas of expertise are in stop motion animation, electronic image manipulation and toy theatre. He is also an expert on historic/traditional forms of storytelling and collector of related artefacts from various periods in history.

Steve’s projects emulate historic imagery, and at the same time challenge traditional themes of narrative structure through the use of digital media. He has worked closely with Edmond Fawdry, Director of Pollock’s Toy Museum and Paul J. Weighell, Curator of Collections. His work has been acquired by the Victoria & Albert Museum for the theatre collection and is on show at the V&A Museum of Childhood. His work has also been presented by the BBC.

Steve has worked in advertising, television and special effects. He continues to produce his own films and maintains close links with industry.
