Find Resources

Using other libraries

During the course of your study you may wish to make use of Library resources at other Universities, Colleges or Public Libraries. The following will give you some idea of the options open to you:

COPAC merges 22 of the largest University research libraries in the UK and Ireland, plus the British Library online catalogue.

SCONUL Access is a co-operative venture between most of the higher education libraries of the UK and Ireland. Staff, research and postgraduate students, and part-time, distance learning and placement undergraduate students are able to borrow items; full-time undergraduates are able to use these libraries for reference. More information is available from the Learning Centre Help Desks.

Most Universities will allow reference access during vacation through the Sconul access scheme - it is however advisable to check with individual establishments.

Public Libraries are another way of accessing information. As with Universities a lot of public library catalogues are available through their Internet Web sites. UK public libraries on the Web gives a comprehensive list.

Birmingham Central Library is one of the largest public libraries in Europe and therefore a very useful source of information. Birmingham City Library catalogue contains information from all of the city’s libraries.

City of Wolverhampton College incorporating both Wulfrun and Bilston Campus Learning Centres will allow University of Wolverhampton students to register with borrowing rights.
