The Harrison Learning Centre will reopen on Monday 8th August. Access to the Learning Centre will be via its new entrance opposite the Student Union. The third floor PC suite will remain closed until 5th September; this is to support the upgrading of PC provision throughout the building. Existing computers on the first and second floor remain available for use.

The Walsall Learning Centre will close for 2 weeks: 22nd August - 2nd September. This close down is to support the move into the new Performance Hub. The Learning Centre will reopen on Monday 5th September in the Performance Hub.

We recommend if you are planning to make a specific visit to any of the Learning Centres over the summer that you check in advance of your journey.

Please be aware that on Wednesday 10th August, Burton Learning Centre will be closing at 3pm. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to ongoing construction work the Harrison Learning Centre will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday the 30th and 31st of August 2011.

Learning Centre Direct and ASSIST will be available as usual throughout this period and MI building will be open for student PC use.

We will re-open the Learning Centre on Thursday September 1st, albeit with continuing limited access, until all construction and refurbishment work is completed.

Today we are pleased to announce the launch of Summon: our new library catalogue.

Summon is huge improvement over our previous catalogue as it allows you to find much more than just our physical stock. It will also search through millions of electronic journal articles, and all the documents in our repository WIRE, so you can discover new and useful resources.

You can search Summon from any page on the LIS website using the Find Resources box above - just type your keywords into the text box and press the search button. If you get too many results, you can quickly refine the search using the facets down the left hand side.
