As previously mentioned, over the summer period Learning &
Information Services (LIS) will be involved in a range of activity
within the Learning Centres across the campuses. This work will
include physical improvements to buildings and the relocation of
services.
At the City Campus work is commencing on the
remodelling of the ground floor of the Harrison Learning
Centre. All ground floor services have now been relocated
to the reception desk; sale of stationery has stopped. The 24 hour
book return box will be no longer be available from Friday 10th
June. Though noise from the building work is expected all efforts
will be made to keep this to a minimum.
As part of the wider move of the University's Business School to
the City Campus the Compton Learning Centre will
close on Friday 8th July. A collection of high use books has been
identified and will be relocated to the first floor of the Harrison
Learning Centre week commencing the 11th July. Please ask staff for
any assistance in locating items during this temporary disruption
to normal service. The remainder of the stock will be transferred
to the Harrison Learning Centre at the end of August once the
ground floor has been remodelled.
We recommend if you are planning to make a specific visit to any
of the Learning Centres over the summer that you check in advance
of your journey.
