Zetoc is the British Library’s Electronic Table of Contents.
Contains details of thousands of journals and conference
proceedings from all subject areas. Create a Zetoc alert to be
alerted via email or RSS for new journal issues or articles in your
field of interest.
JISCMAIL
JISCMail uses the world wide web and e-mail to enable groups of
academics and support staff to talk to each other and to share
information.

Online repository of learning and teaching materials for UK
further and higher education.
RLO-CETL
Repository of learning objects, and study skills.
EThOS
The British Library's service aiming to offer a 'single point of
access' where researchers the world over can access almost ALL
theses produced by UK Higher Education.
There are a number of bibliographic software packages available
for organising and managing your references. The University of
Wolverhampton currently supports RefWorks.
RefWorks is a
web-based reference management system that allows you to collect
references from a range of online sources, manage and organise your
reference library, and import your references into Word using
‘Write-N-Cite’. RefWorks is available to all staff and
students.
- To access RefWorks go to http://www.refworks.com/refworks
from a University computer
- Click on Sign Up for an Individual
Account
- Complete the appropriate information and click on
Register.
Please note that if you are accessing RefWorks from off-campus,
you will need to enter the group code:
RWUWolverhampton before registering for an
individual account.

Other reference management tools
There are a number of free services offering similar features to
EndNote:
- Zotero - free reference management
extension for users of the Firefox browser.
- Mendeley - Like iTunes™ for research
papers. Mendeley is a free research management tool for desktop and
web.
- CiteULike - free bookmarking
service designed for researchers to store, organise and share
academic papers.
- Connotea - free online reference
management aimed at clinicians and scientists.

- RefWorks - web-based bibliography
manager.
Bookmarking
Online bookmarking services are useful for keeping track of your
favourite or most-used websites. Some popular free sites are listed
below. You will also find toolbar versions in your Internet
browser.
Feed Readers
A feed reader is a tool for subscribing to web feeds. Most news
websites and blogs provide the option of subscribing to updates via
a feed as do an increasing number of academic publishers and online
databases. It is a useful way of monitoring new publications and
research papers. Popular web-based feed readers include
Google Reader and Bloglines.

LIS Toolbox workshops
Bite-sized workshops designed to cover different aspects of
teaching and research. They will equip you with the knowledge and
skills to fully exploit the information resources available to you
via the University and on the wider web. You can book for one or
more workshops as relevant to your needs or you may wish to book
for day session covering all of the areas.
