If you’re a Myanmar student looking to study at our University, here you will find important information about entry requirements.

Our international students join a University community of staff and students based in our three Midlands campuses, including City Campus in Wolverhampton.

Whatever your subject, whatever your course, we’ll meet your needs. Outside the classroom, you can make friends with common interests through the Students’ Union, unwind by joining the Mindspace Society and experience the city’s diverse entertainment options, from football to theatre.

Entry requirements for students from Myanmar

International Foundation Year

Standard X Examination / Matriculation Examination

Students with a minimum score of 40% would be eligible for the International Foundation Year.

IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in all components is also required.

Undergraduate

Holders of an Associate Degree of Diploma with a minimum score of 50% are eligible for entrance to Bachelor programmes.

Holders of a three year Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution with a minimum score of 50% can be considered for entrance to the second year of a Bachelor programme.

Holders of a four year Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution with a minimum score of 50% can be considered for entrance to the final year of a Bachelor programme.

Postgraduate

Students who have completed a five year Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution can normally be considered for admission onto a Master’s degree.

A score of 70% or GPA of 4.5 / 5 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1.

A score of 60% or GPA of 3.5 / 5 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2.

A score of less than 60% or GPA of 3.5 / 5 is considered comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-Master’s course.

Students who have completed a Master’s degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution can normally be considered for admission onto a Master’s degree.

A score of 60% or GPA of 3.5 / 5 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1.

A score of 50% or GPA of 2.5 / 5 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2.

A score of less than 50% or GPA of 2.5 / 5 is considered comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-Master’s course.

English Language requirements

English language requirements vary by course and department but are usually the equivalent of IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in every component.
