Entry requirements for students from France

Undergraduate

Diplôme du Baccalauréat Général / Option International du Baccalauréat

Students with a minimum score of 14 can normally be considered for entrance to Bachelor programmes

Applicants who have completed the International Option of the French Baccalaureate are exempt from English language requirements.

Postgraduate

Licence / Diplôme d’Ingenieur / Diplôme National de Technologie Spécialisé

Students who have completed a Bachelor degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution can normally be considered for admission onto a Master’s degree.

 

Licence studied completed before 2008 / Diplôme National de Technologie Spécialisé

A score of 16 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1

A score of 14 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

A score of less than 14  is considered to be comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-masters course

 

Licence completed after 2008 / Diplôme d’Ingénieur

A score of 14 is considered comparable to a UK 2:1

A score of 12 is considered comparable to a UK 2:2

A score of less than 12  is considered to be comparable to a UK 3 and would require the completion of a pre-masters course

English Language Requirements

English language requirements vary by course and department but are usually the equivalent of IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in every component

Applicants who have completed the International Option of the French Baccalaureate are exempt from English language requirements.
