Entry requirements for students from Botswana

International Foundation Year

Students with a minimum score of 6 in the Cambridge Overseas School Certificate or a minimum of Grade C in the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education Examination would be eligible for the International Foundation Year. 

Undergraduate

Students with a Certificate or Diploma with an average grade of C from the University of Botswana will be considered for entrance to Bachelor programmes.

A Higher Diploma with an average grade of C from the University of Botswana can be considered for entrance to the second year of a Bachelor degree.         

Students holding a four year degree with a minimum of a 2nd class 2nd division can normally be considered for entrance to the final year of a Bachelor degree.

Postgraduate

Students who have completed a five year degree from a NARIC or government recognised institution can normally be considered for admission onto a Master’s degree.

The standard marking system in Botswanan Universities is comparable to that used in the UK.
