September 2004
The annual graduation ceremony is a source of great pride to the University. It sees thousands of students receive their awards, alongside honorary awardees including actress and comedienne Josie Lawrence, Holocaust survivor Paul Oppenheimer and civil rights campaigner Shami Chakrabati.
New HESA figures show the University is top for widening participation, opening up more opportunities to students from non-traditional backgrounds.
The new Walsall Sports Centre is officially opened, with Judo Olympians Densign White, Neil Adams and Craig Fallon all attending.
The ribbon is also cut on the newly redeveloped Boundary House for the School of Health.
