Welcome to the Annual Review 2004-05

 

Through ongoing investment we have created a 21st century learning and living environment in which students from all over the world can be proud to study.

 

This year has seen the completion of the innovative new Technology Centre at City Campus, and a modern Student Village open at Walsall Campus.

 

We also welcomed an announcement that Walsall Sports Centre will play an important role in the 2012 London Olympics. It has been chosen as a venue to train judo hopefuls who will be competing in the Games.

 

Teaching at the University is dynamic and effective. We have been awarded a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, providing the most advanced practices in academic learning and support for students.

 

We were extremely proud to be the only University in the UK to receive three National Teaching Fellowships in 2005. This is a reflection of the dedication of our staff and confirms our excellent reputation for innovation in student learning.

 

Our courses continue to evolve to ensure they are cutting edge, relevant and attract students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Our commitment to widening participation enables us to inspire schoolchildren, raise aspirations and reach out to those who thought a University education could not be for them, while still providing courses of the highest quality.
