Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group

We are an Information Science research group that develops software and methods to analyse new internet-based information on a large scale.

Applications include academic link analysis and media blog analysis. We host a number of externally funded projects and have extensive research connections throughout the world.

Research areas

• We specialise in blog analysis, hyperlink analysis, and web text analysis, particularly for academic, media and research-related issues
• We supervise PhDs in webometrics and information science research with a significant component of internet-based quantitative methods
• We supervise Computer Science PhDs in Web IR and web mining
