Our Active Volunteers' programme allows students to gain new skills and valuable experience by undertaking voluntary work with the local community.
The University's strong commitment to the community is demonstrated through the variety of activities of students and staff, sharing their existing skills and expertise while enhancing a sense of community involvement.
Volunteering your time and energy to work with others gives something back to the community in which you live, work or study.
You gain the satisfaction of contributing the skills you have, and the opportunity to develop others. You can even have fun!
Whatever your subject, interests or skills, it it likely that we will have links with a group that you will be interested in volunteering with.
Our service is available to all students and staff at the University, including students who are taking accredited volunteer modules and who may need help in finding a suitable group with which to volunteer.
In 2009 a new certificate was offered to students who take part in volunteering. The certificate is a joint initiative between Active Volunteers and the Students’ Union to acknowledge the importance of volunteering.
The University of Wolverhampton Volunteer of the Year Award celebrates the achievements of volunteers. This award is for outstanding contribution to the community through volunteering and recognises the commitment and achievements of our most dedicated volunteers.
