Cameroon applauds student success

Cameroon, VictorineVictorine Ngamsha, studying BSc (Hons) Business Information Systems was welcomed to Cameroon, her home town, to celebrate her student success story.  As the winner of the 2011 "Student volunteer of the year" award, she was invited to speak about her achievements on national television and radio.

Over the course of her visit, she visited Monday Show, Hello TV, and Morning Safari.  She also visited an orphange and used her IT skills to train 30 students about the basic use of computing.  The visit was to inspire others to study and fulfil their ambitions.

Victorine said "They (the media) wanted to show a successful story of a Cameroonian who came to the UK and worked hard. I talked about my life journey and how this has touched the community, family and the place of work and study.   Wolverhampton University changed my life forever. I remain ever so greatful to the wonderful people and staff at my Uni".

Victorine has carried out a voluntary placement at The Haven working in IT Support, and is the Vice Chair of Banin UK.
