We We were delighted to launch a new branch campus and alumni association in Mauritius last month as part of the University's commitment to partnership and development for the global economy.
The new campus will open later this year and will offer courses in law at undergraduate level and education at postgraduate level.
The official launch took place on Monday, 26 March 2012 and was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Dr The Hon. Arvin Boolell; Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology, Hon Rajesh Jeetah; and the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Geoff Layer.
They signed a partnership agreement sealing the relationship between Wolverhampton and Mauritius.
The University has over 150 graduates in Mauritius and this number will now rise each year with the launch of the new campus.
To support our Mauritian graduates, a new international alumni association has been launched and The Honourable Mr Yatindra Nath Varma, the Attorney General of Mauritius, has been appointed Honorary President. Mr Varma graduated from Wolverhampton in 1998 with an LLB (Hons) Law.
The Association is open to all graduates from, or currently living in, Mauritius. Members will benefit from access to a highly skilled network of Wolverhampton graduates, businesses and experts, as well as a range of other benefits to help them in their own successful futures.
