The Hon. Mr Yatindra Nath Varma - (LLB Hons Law,
Mr Varma is the Attorney General of the Government of Mauritius,
a position he has held since 2010.
After graduating from the University of Wolverhampton with
an LLB (Hons) Law, he went on to complete his Bar Vocational
Course at the University of Wales in 1999.
In the same year he was called to the United Kingdom
Bar (Lincoln's Inn) before being called to the Mauritian Bar in
In 2005, Mr Varma became a Member of Parliament in
Mauritius where he was Chairperson of
the Independent Commission Against Corruption and a Member of
the Public Accounts Committee until 2010.
Since 2001 Mr Varma has been a Member of Mauritius Labour
Party Polit-Bureau, and has previously been a Member of
British Labour Party and a Member of British Fabian Society.
He is fluent in English and French.
Reaz Ghanty - (LLM International Corporate and Financial
Reaz Ghanty is the Managing Director of Coprim Conseil
Ltee in Mauritius and a Lecturer in Law at the Centre for Legal
Business Studies, University of London Centre (Mauritius). Prior to
this he spent 4 years as a Senior Legal Executive at BLC
Reaz graduated from Brunel University (UK) with an LLB
(Hons) Law in 2003, during which time he was ranked 3rd
in the CEDR National Legal Negotiation Competition (Southern UK).
In 2004 he went on to complete a postgraduate LLM
International Corporate and Financial Law at the University of
Reaz is fluent in English, French and Creole and outside of his
career has been involved in various fundraising initiatives
including the Leo Comedy Festival which raised Rs.100,000 for the
Save the Children Foundation.
