On the 17th November the University of Wolverhampton hosted the regional final of the UKMT Senior Team Maths Challenge.
Over 60 students from 16 local schools took part in the competition, which was organised by the UKMT in cooperation with the Further Maths Support Programme and the University’s Maths Department.
The competition was a great success with both students and teachers from all the participating schools enjoying themselves. The winning team was from Concord College, closely followed by teams from King Edward’s School in second place and Tettenhall College coming third.
The Senior Team Maths Challenge is a national competition, designed to promote mathematical dexterity, team working, and communication skills. Regional heats are currently taking place across the country. The winners from these regional heats will go on to the final, which will be held in London on 1st February 2012.
