Wolverhampton infrastructure for Business and Community Engagement (Wi4BCE)

Wolverhampton infrastructure for Business and Community Engagement (Wi4BCE) is funded by JISC as part of its Transformations Programme which aims to support institutions “to effect organisational change through the application of existing JISC and other resources”. (Source: JISC Grant Funding 11/11 Call for bids). The project falls within Strand C of the programme: Enhanced organisational capability for business and community engagement.

Project aims

Wi4BCE will use existing JISC resources to:

1. investigate how to create an organisational environment in which staff can identify and exploit market opportunities to improve our ability, as a university, to provide a wider, flexible and responsive range of workforce development opportunities.
2. identify how to develop organisational approaches and institutional procedures to increase employer engagement for up skilling the workforce.
3. help raise awareness of potential development opportunities by drawing together our different business areas, draw together relevant internal networks, create and showcase examples of existing and developing practice and work across the University to ensure all relevant aspects of the University’s activities meet the needs of this market area.
