Built Environment

On the 5 May, The School hosted the Civil Engineering Final Year Design Project. Students were tasked with Improving Wolverhampton’s Transport Network in the following areas:

  • Access to the i54, development site
  • The improvement of the existing Ring Road junction with Birmingham/Dudley Road
  • The improvement of the existing Ring Road junction with Stafford Street

Three projects were identified in association with our industrial partners. All projects are deliberately open-ended meaning the students have the freedom to generate their own solutions. This well received event was attended by over 50 people attending including the Director of English Regions of the ICE, Steve Feeling and a past ICE President Professor Quentin Leiper. Shailen Shailendra of Centro and the Head of Transportation Services at Wolverhampton City Council, David Orton. Also in attendance our Associate Deans Richard Hall and Ann Latham.
