Though the conventions and practice taught in Biomedical science are UK based, scenarios and case studies are used that have global perspectives. For example this could be on global epidemics e.g. The Sars virus or Swine flu or diseases such as malaria or global events such as an earthquake or flood. Apart from discussing these case studies in class, levels 4 and 5 students are asked to produce information leaflets and posters related to their own experience based on a scenario. Students must consider who their intended audience is and use appropriate images and cultural awareness related to their own experience. Student then submit their leaflets or posters electronically.
