The Centre for Art, Design, Research and Experimentation (CADRE) focuses on the effect of art and design on society – from digital media, to performance, to contemporary visual art. 

The Centre, part of the School of Art and Design, investigates a broad range of artistic practices that influence the way we think, feel and behave.

Impacts

The Centre’s overall concern lies in art practices that involve social interaction and public engagement. The social impact inherent in new interactive technologies, the theory and practice of cultural agency, experiments in radical democracy and the exploring of material processes for performative objects remain the hallmark of both the intellectual and practical research in its five research clusters.
