Campus travel

During term-time the University operates a free intercampus shuttle bus serving the three campuses at Wolverhampton, Walsall and Telford for our staff and students on Monday to Friday only.

We have two routes with term-time buses running between 7.00am and 10.00pm.

  • Route 1: Wolverhampton - Walsall - Wolverhampton.
  • Route 2: Wolverhampton - Telford Campus - Telford Town Centre - Telford Campus - Wolverhampton.

Important notice: Compton Campus Closure

Timetable changes from Monday 19 March 2012.

As from Monday 19 March 2012, there will be no service operating to or from Compton Campus. All services will start and finish at Randall Lines, City Campus.

Times from Randall Lines and Stafford Street remain unchanged, as published in the current timetable.

About our services

  • Real-time satellite tracked vehicles.
  • You must produce your student or staff ID card for travel. 
  • Our buses have wheelchair access and guide dogs are allowed.
  • All services to Walsall, Telford and Randall Lines will stop on the University side of Stafford Street, adjacent to Millennium Building.
  • Items of luggage to be carried at the driver's discretion.

Permitted Use

The University Shuttle Service is operated under Section 19 of the Transport Act 1985, referred to as a section 19 permit. Under the terms of the permit there are conditions as to the permitted use (passengers), the University is legally obliged to conform to these conditions.

The permit states that:

only passengers who are members of the body holding the permit shall be carried’.

For clarity, members of the body are and passage is limited to:

  • Staff employed by the University carrying ID
  • Enrolled Students of the University carrying ID
  • An accepted student for a new intake with a letter of acceptance
  • A visiting lecturer or someone instructed/invited to give an educational talk/presentation with a letter/note of authorisation·        
  • A carer accompanying any of the above

In agreement with the Transport Department certain limited exemptions can be applied for corporate events such as University Open Days.
