Research students normally have to organise your own
funding, whether it is through an employer or other
and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) makes discretionary
grants for postgraduate study and research.
The Research Councils UK –
centred around sciences, technology and economics - will fund
postgraduate study on a discretionary basis.
The University offers a very limited number of research stipends
(formerly known as bursaries) to research students.
Funds are accessible from the relevant Research
Institute - please contact them directly.
Stipends are designed to support specific projects as determined
by the Research Institute rather than individual student-led
detailed information about funding further study.
