Employment rates

Over 89% of our 2009 graduates are in jobs and/or pursuing further training.

The results of the latest Destinations of Leavers From Higher Education (DLHE) survey* show in difficult economic times we have a very high proportion of our students taking their place in the world of work.

Over 74% of these graduates are employed in the top three Standard Occupational Classifications - graduate and graduate-track jobs.

And our graduates' success is having a positive impact on the local economy with over 84% of those in employment, working in the West Midlands.

Overall we have improved our benchmark figure for student employment as measured by HESA (the Higher Education Statistics Agency).

Nationally, unemployment amongst graduates, although this has been rising due to the current economic conditions, remains lower than that of the overall population.
