10 Year Celebration
NASES Annual Conference hosted by the University of
Wolverhampton
June 30 – July 2 2009
Careers and The Workplace are pleased to announce that this year
they will be hosting the NASES conference (National Association of
Student Employment Services) beating off competition from
universities across the UK.
This year’s conference, Creating Opportunities, will celebrate
the history of NASES followed by a look at the future of employment
services within a FE and HE context.
Some of the workshops will include: looking at the current
labour market, and recruitment for the Olympics, promoting student
engagement through employment, volunteering to enhance
employability, using Web 2.0 technologies in an employment service,
supporting students with CVs and written applications, business
start up, and the popular ‘if you are new to student employment’
workshop.
Keynote speakers currently booked include Jane Artess – Director
of Research at HECSU, Margaret Dane – Director at AGCAS, Carl
Gilliard - AGR and David Lammy, MP Minister for Higher Education
and Intellectual Property. There are also talks planned from Croner
on Employment Law and an USA update from NSEA (the National Student
Employment Association).
